About Event:
Smart Grid is confluence of Information, Communications
& Electrical technologies for
Efficient grid operations. Smart Grid, facilitates real - time monitoring and control of power system
and will help in the reduction of
AT&C losses, peak load management, demand response, integration
of renewable energy, power quality
management, outage management etc., Smart
Grid act’ s as a backbone infrastructure for deployment of
resilient and efficient energy systems. The objective of this
seminar is to introduce some of the smart
grid technologies and applications, covering Modeling and Control of
Renewable Energy Systems, Smart
Generation (Renewable and Micro - grid), Smart
Transmission (Integration of Renewable Energy Sources, Wide Area Measurements) and Smart Distribution (Smart
Meters, Outage, Peak Load and Power
Quality Management). This seminar also aims at providing the participants, as to how a smart grid can be realized in a laboratory environment using Hardware
- in - loop testing tools available for smart grid applications.
