About Event:
Objective:
As the field of communication network continues to evolve a very interesting and challenging area of wireless sensor network (WSN) is rapidly emerging. Wireless sensor Networks are highly distributed networks of small, wireless sensor nodes deployment in large numbers to monitor the environment or a system. WSN technology has the potential to revolutionize information and communication technology. Applications of WSN extend to vast and diverse areas such as military, medical industrial, and home networks, Some of the key challenges deal with the scalability of WSN communication and routing protocols to large number of nodes, design of simple and efficient protocol for different network operations, design of power-conserving protocols, design of data handling techniques including data gathering, data fusion and data dissemination, and development of exciting new applications that exploit the potential of WSNs. The workshop provides an approach towards covering various aspects of WSN like network architecture, node localization, routing protocols, security issues, performance bottlenecks, recent trends and applications. Department of Information Technology focuses in bringing out this workshop to familiarize the faculty of the Engineering Colleges, PG and PhD student with the latest developments and importance of WSN but also to get the exposure in identifying research areas and suitable projects to be undertaken by the students. Workshop covers classroom lectures and hands-on session on wireless sensor network issues from eminent personalities from academic institutes. Target audiences are graduate students, PhD scholars, faculty members, scientists, software developers, seeking to carry out research on wireless sensor networks.
TOPICS COVERED
Introduction to Wireless Sensor Networks. Issues in Wireless Sensor Networks. Protocols for WSNs. Mathematical model design. Hands-on sessions on simulators and other concepts.
