Scope of event:
Optimization is the act of obtaining best solutions under the given circumstances. In any engineering system, engineers have to take many technological and managerial decisions at several stages. The ultimate goal of all such decisions is either to minimize the effort required or to maximize the desired benefit. Optimization is useful in making such decisions. A number of approaches have been emerged for solving different types of optimization problems. The non-traditional approaches are widely adapted now-a-days to solve these optimization problems. Its aimed to educate the fundamentals of optimization problems, their formulation, its applications and various methods to solve those problems. These Intelligent techniques are applied to determine solutions for several science and engineering problems. This course provides in-depth coverage of linear, non-linear, dynamic, integer and stochastic programming techniques. Also included are new or recently developed methods, such as evolutionary algorithms, Nature Inspired Algorithms and various modern optimization techniques. Case studies and current literature on engineering optimization are also covered.
This program will be centred on the development and application of these modern trends in optimization. The course contents will be taught by eminent experts in the field, having adequate teaching and research experience. This course will be beneficial to faculty and scholars from all engineering disciplines as a potential computing tool in their research activities. It will bring together researchers from engineering, computer science, mathematics, operations research, and other fields, who have a common interest in optimization Techniques. At the end of the workshop, the participants can apply these techniques in solving simple industrial problems as well as in their B.Tech / M.Tech and Research projects in different areas of science.
