About Event:
Renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, have vast
potential to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions in
the electric sector. Both wind energy and solar photovoltaic are variable and
uncertain. The variability of these sources has led to concerns regarding the
reliability of an electric grid. The potential role of electric energy storage
is the future of grid technology. In addition, while there are clear benefits
of using energy storage to enable greater penetration of wind and solar.
In Electric Power systems, power quality has been one of the issues of increasing interests. New technologies are also in the pipeline to meet future demand for electricity storage. In addition to com-pressed air and hydrogen storage, decentralized battery storage solutions, such as electric car batteries, are also in development.
Energy storage does not mean just the energy sources but they also provide the added benefits of improving power quality, dynamic and transient stability and also the reliability of the supply. Energy storage technology has great potential to improve electric power Smart Grids, to enable growth in renewable electricity generation.
